Community Outreach Program

Youth Corps Community Outreach program was founded in 2020 with the purpose of reaching out to youth in our communities that were not able to benefit from Youth Corps programs due to various circumstances.

Our program engages beneficiaries through psychosocial approach to transform and empower communities.

It has so far impacted over seven hundred (700) beneficiaries from the slums of Lungujja-Kosovo, Kasubi, Nabulagala, Kitunzi, Makerere-Kivulu and Kisenyi.

We prioritize on conducting activities aimed at influencing behavior change among the vulnerable youths in the slums, and we have witnessed tremendous transformation and empowerment of lives through a series of sessions conducted.

We target vulnerable single mothers from slums who are struggling to support their families and vulnerable youths who are going through life challenges like addictions, sexual exploitation, domestic violence, peer pressure, abuse, homelessness, career uncertainties among others.

Our program provides pro-bono counseling services on individual basis and in a group setting, which has been a major tool used to transform and empower lives of the vulnerable youth.

We also conduct community service work, aimed at engaging youths and other people in creating solutions to problems affecting their communities.

In addition, we also organize peer to peer talks where youths in a group are able to talk freely on issues affecting their lives and communities. We also conduct motivational talks, movies and fun time sessions with youths during our inspirational night’s program. Other projects include the slum girls’ empowerment program, let’s talk shows and business mentorship program. These activities have been very instrumental in changing the attitude and perception about life.
